Comments Off on Teaching Tool

The Koka Kids magazine can be used as a teaching tool, visually reinforcing what you are teaching in class.

IN THIS ISSUE:

1. GOKYO POSTER PART THREE. Judoka can cut out eight techniques to stick to their poster on the inside front cover.

2. PAGE 11. POINTS CARD. Encourage your judoka to carry out all these activities next time they compete. The emphasis on completing the tasks rather than the result.

3. PAGE 13. WAZA WHEEL. Encourages judoka to keep a wide range of techniques, to learn by experimentation.

4. PAGE 14. REFEREE QUIZ. A fun way to help children learn the referee commands and signals.

5. PAGE 16-18. THINK LIKE A CHAMPION. Colin Oates, Natalie Powell and Sally Conway are excellent role models, and here they provide an insight into the positive way they think. We have three tasks for your judoka to complete to get them thinking like a champ!

6. PAGE 24. NEWAZA. Two turnovers into Kesa Gatame. Can your judoka do both these turnovers? Do they know the difference between Hon Kesa and Kuzure Kesa?

7. PAGE 26. KOSOTO GAKE. Step by Step guide on how to throw.

8. PAGE 28. OGOSHI MASTERCLASS. With a photo sequence of European Champion Papinashvilli, this OGOSHI is aimed at the more advanced judoka.

9. PAGE 30. FITNESS. Are you judoka fighting fit? A fun circuit to increase stamina and strength. Coaches can download certificates to reward their judoka from our website. Turn it into a warm up, or add in more exercises: this is just a starting point!

10. INTERACTION. Your judoka can win prizes by sending in letters, drawings or photographs of themselves with their copy of Koka Kids. Please point this out to them.
