As a mother, a coach, a world judo champion and a college professor, I want my own children and those who I coach to develop into healthy, self-confident, well-read people. Being a good reader is going to help any child in school, in self-esteem. GETTING them to read when they are young and would rather play with their friends or watch TV, that’s the tricky part, isn’t it? Koka Kids helps them do just that. All of my judo kids read it. Here is the secret no one else confesses – EVERYONE in our house reads it. Koka Kids is like Harry Potter when it first came out in that it is supposed to be for children but lots and lots of adults read it. Why not? It has stories on players from the US, UK and around the world and great judo photos. Come on, admit it – most of us are just kids at heart!
