Creating the Learning Environment

Ways you might like to use the ippon-seoi-nage poster and worksheet:

– Display prominently and use as a reminder of the monthly focus technique. Each month, there is a new focus technique. Either rotate the posters monthly or build a reference wall of techniques.

– Let judoka know they can scan QR codes and watch ippon-seoi-nage animated with step by step instruction, as the animation plays at different speeds.

– Students can replay the animations as many times as needed as they see it, learn it and throw it, and studies have shown that pairing visual information with teaching helps reinforce key points.

– Assign «judo homework» giving out these worksheets for the judoka to do at home.

– Get your judoka to write down key points they remember from class in the space on the study sheet, getting them to think about what they’ve learnt, providing them with a record.

– Involve parents in their child’s judo journey, bridging the gap between the home and the dojo, encouraging parents to take an active interest in their child’s judo.

Each month, a brand new technique!
