OKURI-ASHI-BARAI – Advanced Green Belt Judo Technique.
OKURI-ASHI-BARAI is an advanced technique suitable for experienced Green Belt students and is required by British Judo Association for 12th Mon or 3rd Kyu grade. A spectacular throw when you get it right, Okuri-Ashi-Barai needs little force to score a beautiful ippon. Students often struggle with the timing. A fun and effective training method to improve this is to practice with your eyes closed. Aim to feel the movement rather than to watch for it.
